SIDELOAD COMPARISON

Factory Design
Coil spring is mounted at an angle to the strut. The angled spring force counteracts bending loads inherent in suspension geometry.

Benefit
Bending loads are reduced to 50 – 70 pound range, thereby minimizing friction in the strut bearings. This prolongs damper-life and improves ride-quality.

Aftermarket Coil-Over
Coil spring is mounted in-line with strut to allow use of generic springs.

Compromise
Bending loads are not compensated. Bending force increases to 250 pounds+. Increased friction degrades ride quality and damper life.

Praxis
Application specific air-spring design compensated for bending load.

Benefit
Improved ride quality and increased strut-life
